Custom Fields

Rules: Here are some of the special features of this year's "miniature masquerade".

It is important to note: Dolls should be registered and installed either Friday or early Saturday morning. There are two reasons for this. First, judging will occur about noon on Saturday so that awards may be displayed all day Sunday. Awards will be announced and presented by celebrity guest dolls during the break in the Saturday Masquerade. Second, the official con photographer has agreed to photograph all entrants in the doll masquerade in a special mini-studio near the display. The best time for this will probably be late morning or early afternoon Saturday.

A panel of three judges from local professionals has been arranged. They will not necessarily know you or your work, so you should be prepared to tell them something about yourself and your dolls on your registration. They should know your age, your experience with doll-making, doll-costuming and other crafts. You should point out special features like wings, moving parts, beadwork or unusual details which would be noted for workmanship. You may choose to write something out in advance and attach it to your registration.

The two special categories for this year are Promwear (single and couple) and Best Costumed Non-Human. These categories and Best in Show will receive dealer's room certificates as prizes. All award winners will receive certificates and special commemorative souvenirs of this year's show.

I would like to have a non-competing display area near the show for such things as winners of competitions, earlier work, sets of related figures or humorous creations made for other venues. This area would not be photographed. Please contact me directly if you will be bringing pieces for this display so I may arrange space.

Please contact me if you cannot attend CC16 but wish to send a piece to the show. The safest way to do this would be to send it with an attendee, but shipping can be arranged.

Watch your convention updates for further details and I hope to see all of you in St. Louis this April.
